Fall 2011. I was living in Seattle and new to the area. I walked into a seafood restaurant McCormick and Schmidt's at the age of 22. I don't know my drinks yet so I ask the bartender for a recommendation. He said that I should have a French 75.
Ten years later, the French 75 is one of my favorite cocktails. Think of a Tom Collins in a flute glass but with white sparkling wine instead of soda water. I go into Vinca at Broomfield and see it on the menu and have to get it.
